Manufacturing Engineer

Zinc Air Incorporated, located in Columbia Falls MT, has a need for engineering staff to design,
modify, and specify process components for the manufacture of Zinc Air Inc’s line of large-scale
energy storage flow batteries.

Job Description

Zinc Air, Inc. is looking for highly capable and enthusiastic candidates to join the team on the
development of a new line of energy storage products. This position is for a Manufacturing
Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager. This person will assist with the design
effort to develop and commercialize new energy storage products by designing fixturing and
developing processes for the manufacture of energy storage products. Close work with the
team comprised of scientists, product management, fabrication and senior management will be
required. Level and compensation will be consistent with experience. Preference will be given
to candidates who have prior experience in energy storage technology and are demonstrated
successful multi-taskers.

Responsibilities and Primary Activities

Design process components for the manufacture and testing of large-scale energy
storage products
Create and manage engineering documentation including drawings and specification
sheets.
Work with suppliers and fabricators to ensure components meet requirements and
tolerances.
Provide input and assist with management of quality department for incoming
inspection, inventory management, vendor qualifications, and material disposition.
Manage product configurations and Bills of Materials
Work with purchasing and quality to provide material disposition
Able to perform product design as required assisting design engineering including
design, 3D CAD modeling, and drafting.
Assist in troubleshooting performance issues.
Assist in build and test as required.
Design jigs and test vehicles for production and field service activities.
Create patent and other intellectual property disclosures.
Contribute to Next-Gen product team's design effort by providing the necessary design
boundaries from a production point of view
Assist the design effort for rapid prototyping, upgrades and modifications of new and
existing products.

Preferred Experience

Energy device manufacturing design including electrochemical storage systems and/or
fuel cells.
Creating and/or working with P&ID documents and electrical schematics.
Experienced with MRP/ERP systems
3D solid CAD software- ProE preferred
Manufacturing design for high volume manufacturing including injection molding and
metal stampings.

Requirements

BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a relevant field doing similar work
Willing to work in Montana
Proof of ability to work in the US
