Electrical Engineer
Zinc Air Incorporated, located in Columbia Falls MT, has a need for engineering staff to design,
modify, and specify key components for Zinc Air Inc’s line of large-scale energy storage flow
batteries.
Job Description
Zinc Air, Inc. is looking for highly capable and enthusiastic candidates to join the team on
the development of a new line of energy storage products. This position is for a Senior
Electrical Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager. This person will lead the electrical
design effort to develop and commercialize new energy storage products by directing and
implementing designs for electrical control systems. Close work with the team comprised of
scientists, product management, fabrication and senior management will be required. Level
and compensation will be consistent with experience. Preference will be given to candidates
who have prior experience in energy storage technology and are demonstrated successful
multi-taskers.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities
Design system electrical components based upon reliability, durability and cost
requirements
Generate and maintain costed Bill of Materials to support overall system cost model
Create and manage engineering documentation including drawings and specification
sheets.
Work with suppliers to ensure components meet requirements.
Lead and guide the efforts of other electrical and software engineers.
Assist in troubleshooting performance issues.
Assist in build and test as required.
Create patent and other intellectual property disclosures.
Contribute to Next-Gen product team's design effort by providing the necessary design
boundaries from a design/electrical point of view
Assist the design effort for rapid prototyping, upgrades and modifications of new and
existing products.
Preferred Experience
Energy device design including electrochemical storage systems and/or fuel cells.
Electrical design of PLC’s, embedded control systems, inverters, and transformers
(particularly high power grid-based designs).
Design for high volume manufacturing

Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering
A minimum of 10 years of industry experience in a relevant field doing similar work
Willing to work in Montana
Proof of ability to work in the US
