Kennedy/Jenks Consultants is an employee-owned, full-service, engineering and environmental sciences consulting firm, serving private and public sector clients throughout the United States. We are currently looking for an experienced, mid-level (5-10 years of consulting experience, both office and field) Mechanical Engineer for our Mission, Kansas or Whitefish, Montana office.
What you’ll be doing: Working with a team of environmental professionals consisting of scientists and engineers solving complex engineering and environmental problems. Working with a regional team, you will be performing evaluation of mechanical systems, designing systems associated with industrial/municipal systems, preparing bid specifications, and evaluating contractor bids. Follow through during construction and operations of the designed technology, regulatory reporting, and negotiations may be required. Some travel will be necessary to support ongoing engineering projects.
What you’ll need: The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience with design of hydraulic systems, ability to work with subcontractors, and experience in construction. A BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering and professional registration is required. Bring your professional familiarity with the railroad industry, petroleum hydrocarbon and agricultural chemical remediation; prior project management experience; and a keen ability to develop and motivate teams and move projects forward to completion and join our dynamic group of engineers and scientists. Strong business development skills (both with the railroad and other industry) are desired to help expand the group.
